Bay Automation
Guide for automating your facility with Teebly
Most golf simulator venues operate with a staffed, unstaffed or hybrid model. Teebly accommodates all of these models. This guide covers how to automate your bays, so most use cases are covered.

Teebly offers bay automation through two distinct approaches:
- Teebly Bay Tools — our native automation system installed on the simulator PC
- IFTTT Integration — connect to 1,000+ third-party services
Both approaches can be used together or independently, depending on your needs and existing hardware.
Teebly Bay Tools
Teebly Bay Tools is our native bay automation system that integrates directly with the Teebly platform. It acts as an autonomous warden for your simulator bays by controlling when the golfing software is accessible. It works with any Windows-based golf simulator system, with no additional hardware required.
With Bay Tools, you can:
- Lock automatically when no booking is active — prevents unauthorized access and overstaying
- Unlock automatically when a booking starts — allows uninterrupted access to the game software
- Encourage bookings — golfers see a prompt to book to unlock the bay
- Send messages to the bay screen while in use — an easy way to communicate with customers
See the Bay Tools Reference for full details.
IFTTT Integration
Teebly's IFTTT (If This Then That) integration lets you automate the physical environment of your bays — lighting, smart plugs, audio, climate control, and more. While Bay Tools controls access to the simulator software, IFTTT handles everything outside of it.
With IFTTT, you create custom applets that trigger based on Teebly booking events. For example:
| Trigger | Action |
|---|---|
| Booking starts | Turn on bay lights, start music playlist |
| Booking ends | Turn off lights, stop music, start Roomba vacuum |
The combination of Teebly Bay Tools and IFTTT helps you automate your facility the way you want without writing any code.
