Door Access Automation
Guide for automating door access in Teebly
Door access automation in Teebly lets customers enter your facility during valid booking windows without manual staff intervention.
At a high level, Teebly authorizes access requests based on booking status and timing, then sends unlock commands through your connected access control provider.
How access automation works
Teebly evaluates every access request against booking rules:
- Is this a valid, confirmed booking?
- Is the request within the allowed access window?
- Is the booking still active and not cancelled?
If all checks pass, Teebly sends an unlock command to your access control provider.
Access is granted from 15 minutes before the booking starts until the booking ends, and revoked immediately upon the end time or upon cancellation.
A "Granted" access event means Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command. It does not always guarantee the physical door is unlocked (network, hardware, or reader issues can still fail).
Prerequisites
- Installed and configured access control system compatible with Teebly (see Access Control Integrations)
- Active Teebly business account
- Staff account with admin permissions
- Stable network connectivity for locks/controllers
- Provider-side admin permissions (for example, Avigilon Alta
Super Admin)
Configure your integration

- Select the device/reader as the active lock for your facility.
- Run a test unlock to verify the integration.
