Prerequisites
Prepare Your Akiles Devices
Follow these steps to set up your Akiles devices for integration with Teebly:
-
Set Up the Akiles Gateway
- Plug in your Akiles Gateway and connect it using Ethernet
- The LED should be blue to indicate that it is connected
-
Prepare Your Akiles Locks
- Before installing an Akiles Roomlock, take a photo of the QR code inside the lock body
- The QR code is located on the inside of the lock, opposite the keypad
- This code is required to add the lock in the Akiles app
-
Log In to the Akiles App
-
Add the Akiles Gateway
- In the Akiles app, click the upper-left menu and select Devices
- At the upper-right corner, click Actions + and select New Device
- Type a name for the new device and select the site with which you want to associate the device
- Use a QR code scanner to scan the QR code on the back of the Gateway to retrieve the hardware ID number
- In the Device Type field, paste the hardware ID number
- The Akiles app displays Device and Version information based on the hardware ID
- Click Create Device
- The Gateway will take a moment to connect to the Akiles server, run a firmware auto-update, and reboot
-
Add Each Akiles Lock
- Using the photo you took of the QR code inside the lock, scan this code to retrieve the hardware ID number
- In the Device Type field, paste the hardware ID number
- The Akiles app displays Device and Version information based on the hardware ID
- Click Create Device
- The Akiles app creates the device representation and displays that the device status is offline
-
Connect Each Lock to the Gateway
- Click the upper-left menu and select Links
- By default, the Akiles app displays a link between the Gateway and server
- Click Link +
- Clear the Server field to remove Server from Central Device
- Click Central Device and select Gateway
- Click Peripheral Device and select Lock
- Click Create Link
- This link connects the lock to the Akiles server and may take several minutes to complete
- It also performs firmware updates that take additional time
-
Verify All Devices Are Online
- Click the upper-left menu and select Devices
- Make sure that all devices are showing as online
Connect Your Devices to Teebly
Once your Akiles devices are properly configured in the Akiles app, you can connect them to Teebly:
- Log into the Teebly Dashboard
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click Add devices
- Select Akiles from the list of available access control providers
- Enter your Akiles app credentials
- Select the devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings
Testing Your Integration
This will send a live unlock command to the selected Akiles device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.
After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click the Test active device button
If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.
Monitoring Access Requests
Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.
Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.
Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.
This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.
Troubleshooting
Device Not Appearing in Connection Flow
If your device doesn't appear when connecting to Teebly:
- Verify the device is added to your Akiles app
- Confirm the Akiles Gateway is properly set up and connected
- Check that all devices show as online in the Akiles app
- Verify the lock is linked to the Gateway (not just the server)
Gateway Not Connecting
If your Akiles Gateway isn't connecting:
- Check that the Gateway is plugged in and connected via Ethernet
- Verify the LED is blue (indicating connection)
- Allow time for firmware updates to complete after initial setup
- Try rebooting the Gateway
Lock Shows as Offline
If your lock appears offline in the Akiles app:
- Verify the lock is properly linked to the Gateway (not the server)
- Check the link status in the Akiles app under Links
- Allow several minutes for the link to establish and firmware updates to complete
- Ensure the lock is within range of the Gateway
Device Won't Unlock
If the test unlock command fails:
- Verify all devices are online in the Akiles app
- Check that the Gateway has a stable internet connection
- Ensure the lock-to-Gateway link status is active
- Verify the device batteries are not low
- Try recreating the link between the lock and Gateway
