Salto KS Integration

Connect Teebly to Salto KS to enable automated access control

Overview

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Spain, Salto Systems is a global leader in electronic access control solutions across 90+ countries. Salto KS (Keys as a Service) is a cloud-based access control platform offering centralized control and real-time monitoring from any location, with support for RFID, NFC and mobile credentials. With Teebly's integration, you can easily manage your Salto KS devices and provide automated access to your customers.


Prerequisites

Important Requirements

Before connecting Salto KS to Teebly, ensure you have:

  • A Salto KS production environment account (must use app.saltoks.com, not app-accept.saltoks.com)
  • Site Admin rights on your Salto KS account
  • All Salto KS sites released by your installer (Teebly cannot access unreleased sites)
  • Salto locks connected to your Salto KS system (iOS / Android)
  • Salto IQ hubs installed for locks that require gateway connectivity

Prepare Your Salto KS Account

Before connecting to Teebly, complete these setup steps in your Salto KS account:

1. Verify production environment access

Confirm you're using a Salto KS production environment account. Check that your Salto KS dashboard URL is https://app.saltoks.com (not app-accept.saltoks.com). Only production environment accounts can connect to Teebly.

2. Confirm Site Admin permissions

Log in to the Salto KS web app and verify you have Site Admin rights. This permission level is required to authorize Teebly's connection to your Salto KS system.

3. Ensure sites are released

Verify with your Salto installer that all sites you want to manage through Teebly have been released. Unreleased sites cannot be accessed or controlled remotely.

4. Review connected devices

In the Salto KS web app, navigate to Locks in the top navigation and confirm all your locks and card readers appear in the system and show as online.

5. Verify hub connectivity

For locks that require Salto IQ hubs, check that all hubs are powered on, connected to your network and showing as online in the Salto KS app.

6. Record your login credentials

Make note of your Salto KS username and password. You'll need these credentials to connect your Salto KS account to Teebly.


Connect Your Devices to Teebly

Once your Salto KS account is properly configured, you can connect them to Teebly:

  1. Log into the Teebly Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  3. Click Add devices
  4. Select Salto KS from the list of available access control providers
  5. Enter your Salto KS credentials
  6. Select the Salto KS sites you want to integrate
  7. Select the Salto KS lock devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings

Note: During connection, Teebly adds an admin user to your Salto KS site for integration purposes. Do not suspend or remove this Seam Integration admin user as it's required for the integration to function.


Testing Your Integration

This will send a live unlock command to the selected Salto device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.

After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:

  1. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  2. Click the Test active device button

If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.


Monitoring Access Requests

Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.

Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.

Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.

This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.


Troubleshooting

Devices Don't Appear

  • Verify your Salto KS URL is https://app.saltoks.com (not app-accept.saltoks.com)
  • Contact your Salto installer to verify all sites have been released
  • Confirm you have Site Admin rights in the Salto KS web app

Connection Fails During Setup

  • Double-check your Salto KS username and password
  • Try logging in to the Salto KS web app to verify credentials work
  • Confirm you're using a Site Admin account

Lock Status Not Updating

  • Check that Salto IQ hubs are powered on and connected to your network
  • Verify locks show as online in the Salto KS app
  • Try restarting hubs by unplugging and reconnecting power

Integration Admin User Issues

  • Do not suspend or remove the Seam Integration admin user added by Teebly
  • If accidentally removed, disconnect and reconnect your Salto KS account in Teebly
