Kwikset Integration
Integration guide for Kwikset with Teebly
Overview
Founded in 1946 by locksmith and engineer Karl Rhinehart, Kwikset is a leading manufacturer of smart locks and security products based in Lake Forest, California. With over 70 years of industry experience, Kwikset pioneered innovations like interchangeable cores and became known for durability and reliability. Today, Kwikset's smart locks are sold in more than 60 countries, offering keyless entry systems and smartphone-controlled access with remote notifications. With Teebly's integration, you can easily manage your Kwikset locks and provide automated access to your customers without the need for physical keys.
Prerequisites
Important: You must disable 2-Step Verification (multi-factor authentication) in your Kwikset account before connecting to Teebly.
Enabling MFA can block the connection process. After connecting your account to Teebly, you can re-enable 2-Step Verification in the Kwikset App settings.
You will need the following before starting the integration:
- A Kwikset account (create one in the Kwikset App if needed)
- One or more supported Kwikset locks
- Kwikset App installed on your device (iOS or Android)
- 2-Step Verification disabled in Kwikset Account Settings
- Teebly account with administrator access

Follow these steps to set up your Kwikset locks for integration with Teebly:
-
Install the Kwikset App
Download and install the Kwikset App on your mobile device (iOS or Android). -
Create a Kwikset Account
If you don't already have one, create an account in the Kwikset App. Make sure to note your login credentials for later use. -
Disable 2-Step Verification
This is a critical step:- Open the Kwikset App
- Tap the menu button in the top left corner
- Navigate to Account Settings
- Disable 2-Step Verification
- You can re-enable this after connecting to Teebly
-

Connect to Wi-Fi
In the Kwikset App:- Tap the + icon to add a new device
- Select your lock model and follow the on-screen instructions
- Connect the lock to your Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz network required)
- Wait for the lock to complete the connection process
- Verify the lock shows as online in the app
-
Test Lock Functionality
Before connecting to Teebly:- Test locking and unlocking through the Kwikset App
- Verify you can control the lock remotely (when away from home)
- Check the battery level is adequate
- Ensure the lock operates smoothly with no mechanical issues
Connect Your Devices to Teebly
Once your Kwikset locks are properly configured, you can connect them to Teebly:
- Log into the Teebly Dashboard
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click Add devices
- Select Kwikset from the list of available access control providers
- Enter your Kwikset account credentials (email and password)
- Select the Kwikset lock devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings
Testing Your Integration
This will send a live unlock command to the selected Kwikset device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.
After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click the Test active device button
If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.
Monitoring Access Requests
Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.
Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.
Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.
This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.
