Lockly Integration

Connect Teebly to Lockly to enable automated access control

Overview

Founded in 2015, Lockly is a leading manufacturer of smart locks for residential and commercial use, known for innovative security features including fingerprint technology and peek-proof displays. Lockly offers both residential and commercial smart lock solutions with advanced features like audit trail logs and remote access control. With Teebly's integration, you can easily manage your Lockly locks and provide automated access to your customers.

Prerequisites

Important Requirements

Before connecting Lockly to Teebly, ensure you have:

Prepare Your Lockly Account

Before connecting to Teebly, complete these setup steps in your Lockly account:

1. Configure the Lockly mobile app

Download the Lockly mobile app and create an account if you don't have one. For each lock you want to connect, open the lock's card, select Settings in the lower-right corner, then select Sync with LocklyOS and turn it on.

2. Set up Lockly Access Portal subscription

In a web browser, go to the Lockly Access Portal (LAP) and sign in using your Lockly mobile app credentials. Purchase the Lockly plan that fits your needs.

3. Request API access from Lockly

Email support@lockly.com to request API access for your LAP account. Wait for confirmation that API access has been enabled before proceeding.

4. Create programmatic access credentials

In LAP, open Account > User Management and select Add Account. Configure the new user with these settings:

  • Credential type: Access Key - Programmatic access
  • Username: A descriptive label (e.g., "Teebly Integration")
  • Property: Select all properties Teebly should access
  • Role: Property And Room (Read & Write), Doorlock (Read & Write), API EBadge Admin
  • Validity period: Permanent

5. Record your credentials

After selecting Confirm, LAP will display the credentials for the new account. Record these values:

  • Client ID
  • Access Key ID
  • Access Key Secret
  • Token ID
  • Token Secret

You'll need all five credentials to connect to Teebly.

6. Verify LocklyOS sync

Return to the Lockly mobile app and confirm that Sync with LocklyOS is enabled for each lock you want to control through Teebly.

Connect Your Devices to Teebly

Once your Lockly account is properly configured, you can connect them to Teebly:

  1. Log into the Teebly Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  3. Click Add devices
  4. Select Lockly from the list of available access control providers
  5. Enter your LAP credentials:
    • Client ID
    • Access Key ID
    • Access Key Secret
    • Token ID
    • Token Secret
  6. Select the Lockly lock devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings

Testing Your Integration

This will send a live unlock command to the selected Lockly device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.

After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:

  1. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  2. Click the Test active device button

If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.

Monitoring Access Requests

Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.

Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.

Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.

This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.

Troubleshooting

Devices Don't Appear

  • Open each lock in the Lockly mobile app and confirm "Sync with LocklyOS" is enabled
  • Verify your LAP subscription is active at Lockly Access Portal
  • Contact Lockly support to verify API access is enabled for your LAP account

Connection Fails During Setup

  • Double-check all five credentials (no extra spaces)
  • Verify you're using credentials from a user with correct permissions (Property And Room, Doorlock, API EBadge Admin roles)
  • Confirm the user has access to all relevant properties in LAP

Lock Status Not Updating

  • For locks requiring Secure Link Wi-Fi Hub: Verify hub is powered on and connected
  • For Wi-Fi locks: Confirm they're connected to your network
  • Force a sync in the Lockly mobile app by pulling down on the lock card
