Alfred Integration

Integration guide for Alfred with Teebly

Overview

Connect Teebly to Alfred to enable automated access control for your indoor golf facility. Founded in 2010, Alfred Inc specializes in smart lock solutions that combine smartphone control with traditional key access. Their products feature modern design, Bluetooth connectivity, and built-in touchpad options for flexible access management. As a CES Innovation Award and Good Design Award winner, Alfred is recognized as one of the leading smart lock manufacturers on the market.

Prerequisites

You will need the following before starting the integration:

  • A Samsung SmartThings account (create one in the SmartThings app if needed)
  • SmartThings Hub (Samsung 3rd Generation Hub or Aeotec Smart Home Hub)
  • One or more supported Alfred locks with Z-Wave capability
  • SmartThings mobile app installed on your device (iOS or Android)
  • Teebly account with administrator access

Note: Alfred locks require a SmartThings Hub to enable remote access. The Hub connects to your local network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet and communicates with Alfred locks using Z-Wave protocol.

Prepare Your SmartThings Hub and Alfred Locks

Follow these steps to set up your SmartThings Hub and Alfred locks for integration with Teebly:

  1. Install the SmartThings App
Download and install the SmartThings app on your mobile device.

  2. Create a SmartThings Account
If you don't already have one, create an account in the SmartThings app. Make sure to note your login credentials for later use.

  3. Set Up Your SmartThings Hub
    Follow Samsung's setup instructions to:

    • Connect your SmartThings Hub to your network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet
    • Add the Hub to your SmartThings account
    • Verify the Hub shows as online in the app
  4. Pair Your Alfred Locks
In the SmartThings app, add your Alfred locks:

    • Open the SmartThings app and tap Devices
    • Tap the + icon and select Add device
    • Choose By brand and search for your lock manufacturer
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Alfred lock using Z-Wave
    • The lock should appear in your device list once paired successfully
    • Verify the lock appears and is responding in the SmartThings app
  5. Test Lock Functionality
Before connecting to Teebly, test that you can lock and unlock your Alfred devices remotely through the SmartThings app. This confirms the Z-Wave connection between your Hub and locks is working properly.

Connect Your Devices to Teebly

Once your SmartThings Hub and Alfred locks are properly configured, you can connect them to Teebly:

  1. Log into the Teebly Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  3. Click Add devices
  4. Select SmartThings from the list of available access control providers
  5. Enter your SmartThings account credentials when prompted
  6. Select the Alfred lock devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings

Testing Your Integration

This will send a live unlock command to the selected Alfred device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.

After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:

  1. Navigate to Operations > Access Control
  2. Click the Test active device button

If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.

Monitoring Access Requests

Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.

Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.

Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.

This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.
