Connect Teebly to Tedee to enable automated access control
Overview
Based in Poland, Tedee manufactures smart locks offering keyless entry and remote access control. Tedee smart locks attach to existing locks using either a hardware adapter or modular European cylinder, providing app-based remote locking and unlocking. With Teebly's integration, you can easily manage your Tedee locks and provide automated access to your customers.
Prerequisites
Prepare Your Tedee Account
Before connecting to Teebly, complete these setup steps in your Tedee account:
1. Set up the Tedee mobile app
Download the Tedee mobile app and create an account if you don't have one. This is essential as you must add all Tedee devices through the mobile app - the Tedee web portal cannot be used for device setup.
2. Install the Tedee smart bridge
Connect your Tedee smart bridge to your Wi-Fi network following the manufacturer's instructions. The bridge is required for remote access to your Tedee locks. Ensure the bridge has a stable internet connection.
3. Add locks through mobile app
In the Tedee mobile app, add all your Tedee smart locks. Follow the in-app pairing process to connect each lock to your bridge. Verify that all locks appear in the app and show as online.
4. Test lock operation
Use the Tedee mobile app to lock and unlock each device to verify they're responding correctly through the bridge before connecting to Teebly.
5. Verify bridge connectivity
Check that your Tedee bridge shows a stable connection in the mobile app. The bridge must maintain a constant connection to the internet for remote unlock control to function.
6. Record your login credentials
Note your Tedee app email and password. You'll need these credentials to connect your Tedee account to Teebly.
Connect Your Devices to Teebly
Once your Tedee account is properly configured, you can connect them to Teebly:
- Log into the Teebly Dashboard
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click Add devices
- Select Tedee from the list of available access control providers
- Enter your Tedee mobile app credentials
- Select the Tedee lock devices you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings
Testing Your Integration
This will send a live unlock command to the selected Tedee device. Ensure that it is safe to do so before proceeding.
After connecting your devices in Teebly, test that the unlock functionality works as expected:
- Navigate to Operations > Access Control
- Click the Test active device button
If the test is successful and your device unlocks, your integration is complete! Your customers will now be able to access your facility during their bookings.
Monitoring Access Requests
Teebly logs all access requests for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes. You can find access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs.
Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.
Note: All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.
This does not guarantee that the device has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, device functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.
Troubleshooting
Devices Don't Appear
- Confirm all locks are visible and online in the Tedee mobile app
- Check that the Tedee bridge is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi
Connection Fails During Setup
- Double-check your Tedee mobile app email and password
- Try logging in to the Tedee mobile app to verify credentials work
- Reset your password if needed
Lock Status Not Updating
- Check that the Tedee bridge is online in the mobile app
- Ensure locks are within Bluetooth range of the bridge (typically 30 feet)
- Try restarting the bridge by unplugging and reconnecting power
Lock Won't Unlock
- Move the bridge closer to locks (within 30 feet)
- Verify strong Wi-Fi signal at the bridge location
- Check battery levels and replace if below 20%
Bridge Offline
- Verify the bridge is plugged in and receiving power
- Confirm the bridge is connected to your Wi-Fi network
- Try restarting the bridge: unplug, wait 30 seconds, plug back in
