Avigilon Alta Integration
Integration guide for Avigilon Alta with Teebly
Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath) is a security solution that offers access control and video surveillance capabilities. With the Teebly integration, you can offer your customers a unified experience for booking, and autonomously accessing your indoor golf facility.
This guide explains how to setup the Avigilon Alta integration with Teebly.
Overview
Teebly will control a bot account that you create in Avigilon Alta. This bot account will be authorized to unlock the door you select. When a booking is made, Teebly will facilitate door access requests from your customers based on the booking time, duration and status.
Door access will only be granted for confirmed bookings and will remain active from 15 min before the booking start time until the booking end time.
Access will be revoked immediately after the booking end time or if the booking is cancelled.
Prerequisites
You will need the following before starting the integration:
- An Avigilon Alta account with administrator access.
- Installed and configured Avigilon Alta ACU and reader.
- Teebly account with administrator access.
Setup
- Log in to your Avigilon Alta account.
- Navigate to Users and click the "+" icon to create a new user.
- The new user will require an email. You could consider something like my_email+teebly-bot@company.com, where the addition of “+teebly-bot” will help differentiate the user in Alta.
- The new user should have a recognizable “First” and “Last” name, we recommend “Teebly Bot”.
- Ensure “Portal Access” is toggled on for this new user, this will permit Teebly to access the API in order to generate cloud credentials for your customers.
- Under the “Access” tab in the new user view, ensure the Teebly Bot has access to all of the relevant doors. This access will later be used for selecting which door you select Teebly to unlock during bookings.
- Save the new user.
Setup Notes
-
Currently, we only support automated access for a single door reader per Teebly facility. If you have multiple access control systems at your facility, you will need to plan accordingly to ensure it is obvious to your customers which door they should use for access during their bookings.
-
If you have multiple facilities in Teebly that you wish to integrate with Avigilon Alta, you can use the same bot account for all facilities as long as the bot account has access to all relevant doors.
Teebly setup
- Log in to your Teebly account.
- Navigate to More > Integrations.
- Find the Avigilon Alta integration and click Manage.
- You will be prompted to enter the email and password for the bot account you created in Avigilon Alta.
- After entering the credentials, click Connect to Avigilon to establish the integration.
- Once connected, you will see a list of doors that the bot account has access to. Select the door you want to be accessible to your customers during their bookings.
- Save your changes.
If you encounter any issues, double-check the bot account permissions in Avigilon Alta and ensure that the integration settings in Teebly are correctly configured.
If you are still experiencing issues, contact Teebly Support or Avigilon Support.
Monitoring access requests
While you can always monitor access requests in the Avigilon Alta portal, all access requests will be shown as "Teebly Bot". As such, this can make it hard to nail down which customer initiated the request.
To help with this, Teebly logs all access requests. You can find the access requests for the last 30 days by navigating to Operations > Door Access Logs. Logs are also accessible within individual booking details and are not limited to the last 30 days.
Note
All requests with a "Granted" status indicate that Teebly authorized the request and sent an unlock command to the door reader.
This does not guarantee that the door reader has received or successfully processed the unlock command. Factors such as network connectivity, reader functionality, or physical obstructions at the door may prevent the door from unlocking.
